Hyderabad: A 10-year-old boy was beaten up and assaulted for allegedly trying to steal a cold drink from a shop in Nampally. The boy was assaulted by 28-year-old Gadge Krishna Kanth, the owner of the shop.
The boy was tied up, stripped, and beaten up. Krishna Kanth also sprinkled chilly powder on the boy's private parts. According to reports, he also recorded a video of the incident and shared it with his friends and relatives.
Immediately after the incident, when the boy was let free, he went and narrated the incident to his parents who went to Habeeb Nagar police station in Nampally and filed a complaint.
The SI of Habeeb Nagar police station, Gayatri, said a case has been registered against Krishna Kanth under sections 324, 342, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). He has also been taken into custody.
Section 324 of IPC deals with voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means and the punishment amounts to imprisonment up to three years or fine or both. Section 342 of IPC deals with wrongful confinement of a person and punishment is imprisonment of one year or fine up to Rs. 1,000 or both. Section 506 deals with criminal intimidation and states that the punishment would be imprisonment up to seven years or fine or both.
