Actor, film critic Kathhi Mahesh dies days after accident

Hyderabad: Telugu actor and film critic Kathhi Mahesh passed away on Saturday. He was undergoing treatment at a Chennai hospital after he was injured in an accident a few days ago.
On 26 June, Mahesh was returning to Hyderabad when his SUV rammed into a lorry at Chandrasekhara Puram under Kodavulur mandal in Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh. He was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai for treatment where he was being monitored by a team of doctors.
Initially, the doctors and the actor's close friends had reported that Mahesh was in a critical condition. A few days ago, his family and friends had told the media that his condition was stable and he was recovering. But on Saturday, it was reported that the actor had died.
News about the actor's death has shocked the entire film fraternity. Reporters, artistes, and critics who worked closely with him are in a state of shock.
Recently, the Andhra Pradesh government had announced a financial aid of Rs. 17 lakhs for Mahesh's medical expenses.
