Pahalgam terror attack: Over 50 tourist spots closed amid security concerns in Kashmir

Jammu & Kashmir: In the wake of the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed the lives of 26 tourists, the Jammu and Kashmir government has temporarily shut down nearly 50 public parks and tourist destinations across Kashmir. The move follows intelligence warnings about potential further attacks.
Although no official order has been publicly issued, authorities have restricted access to these locations, with reports confirming that entrances to several popular destinations, including multiple Mughal Gardens in south Kashmir, have been locked.
The closed sites include: Dooshpathri, Kokernag, Duksum, Sinthan Top, Acchabal, Bangus Valley, Margan Top, Bandipora, Gurez Valley, Budgam, Yousmarg, Tosa Maidan, Doodhpathri, Kulgam, Aharbal, Kousarnag, Kupwara, Kariwan Diver, Wular/Watlab, Rampora, Rajpora, Chearhar, Mundij-Hamam-Markoot Waterfall, Khampoo, Bosnia, and the Sun Temple in Kheribal.
Notably, Kousarnag, a high-altitude lake in south Kashmir’s Shopian district known for its trekking trails and appeal to adventure tourists, has also been closed.
Meanwhile, security forces have ramped up anti-terror operations across the valley, targeting terrorist hideouts and individuals linked to militant networks.
