Paradise-Medchal, JBS- Shamirpet: CM Revanth gives go-ahead for preparing DPR for two Hyderabad metro corridors

By Newsmeter Network Published on 2 Jan 2025 7:01 AM ISTHyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has given the go-ahead for preparing a Detail Project Report (DPR) to expedite work on the 23-kilometer Paradise-Medchal and 22-kilometer JBS- Shamirpet metro rail corridors.
The chief minister directed HMRL Managing Director NVS Reddy to prepare the DPRs and send them to the central government for approval as part of Metro Rail Phase-2 'B'.
Revanth Reddy took this crucial decision after discussing the issue with Principal Secretary (MA&UD) Danakishore and NVS Reddy on Wednesday.
The 23 km new metro corridor would extend from Paradise Metro Station to Medchal Via Tadbund, Bowenpally, Suchitra Circle, Kompally, Kandlakoya, and ORR exit.
Another metro corridor would extend from JBS Metro Station to Shamirpet via Vikrampuri, Karkhana, Tirumalagiri, Lothkunta, Alwal, Bollaram, Hakimpet, Tumukunta, ORR exit.
He instructed the Metro MD to also consult the sitting Malkajgiri MP Eatela Rajender for his suggestions before finalizing the alignment of the two metro corridors.
The MD said the CM has instructed to complete DPR preparation within three months and obtain state government approval.
Chief Minister noted that like Phase-2 'A', Phase-2 'B' DPR should also formulated as a joint venture between the central and state governments. The CM has instructed that these proposals be sent to the Centre for approval.
The Metro MD stated that preparing the DPRs and other related documents is being initiated accordingly.
