Visakhapatnam: It was a narrow escape for Andhra Pradesh minister Adimulapu Suresh after his paramotoring ride nearly overturned.
On Sunday morning, a marathon was held at RK Beach in Visakhapatnam as part of the G20 Summit. Later, the minister tried paramotoring at RK Beach, which was part of the marathon and adventure sports activities organised for the summit.
As the crew started the engine, the paramotor tilted to one side due to a change in the winds. The incident happened just a few seconds before the paramotor was to fly. Teams were immediately alerted and they got the minister down.
Paramotoring is one of the unique experiences in Visakhapatnam, where former Defence personnel handle the activity at RK Beach. A pilot accompanies the person on a short trip in the sky. The person taking the ride can get a birds-eye view of Visakhapatnam.
The theme of the second Infrastructure Working Group (IWG) meeting, which is a part of the G20 Summit, is ‘Financing Cities of Tomorrow – Inclusive, Resilient and Sustainable.’ The first G20 meeting was conducted in January in Pune, and the second will be in Visakhapatnam on 28 and 29 March.
