Tirupati: Heavy pilgrim rush is being witnessed at Tirumala on the occasion of the third 'Peratasi Saturday' also known as `Tirumala Sanivaram'. The pilgrim rush picked up on October 5 afternoon.
Expecting a huge rush, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) asked the devotees to schedule their travel accordingly. On October 5, 63,579 pilgrims visited Tirumala Balaji temple. People were waiting in 35 compartments. It took nearly 10 hours for the darshan.
According to the TTD officials, all the compartments and sheds in Narayanagiri Gardens are full to their capacity. There are also lines at the Sila Toranam Centre. "It is taking nearly 30 hours for the darshan of pilgrims. The devotees are requested to make note of this and co-operate with TTD", said TTD in a release.
Following Dasara holidays, Tirumala has seen a huge rush of people. Pilgrims are finding it tough to get accommodation. People have been waiting for hours at the accommodation office to secure a single room.
