By Newsmeter Network Published on 3 Oct 2024 4:19 AM GMTHyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao has sent a legal notice to Telangana Minister Konda Surekha for alleged baseless and defamatory statements against him.
Konda Surekha is under fire after she accused KTR of engineering a divorce between Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya.
In the notice, KTR condemned the allegations made by Surekha, including claims about phone tapping during his tenure as a minister and outrageous comments linking him to the divorce of actors Samantha and Naga Chaitanya.
KTR made it clear in the legal notice that Konda Surekha's statements were aimed solely at tarnishing his reputation by dragging in unrelated individuals and making slanderous remarks. He expressed his disappointment over Surekha's use of actors' names to further her political agenda. KTR strongly denounced the false accusations regarding phone tapping and other claims, emphasizing that they were completely fabricated.
The notice highlighted that these statements were a deliberate attempt by Surekha to misuse her political platform to malign KTR's image for political gains. KTR condemned the fact that a woman in public office would resort to using the names of another woman and public figures, attacking their character without any proof. He pointed out the malicious intent behind such actions, stating that this defamation has been widely circulated in the media and on social media platforms. KTR also questioned how a serving minister like Konda Surekha could make such irresponsible remarks without any evidence, warning that the public might mistakenly take them as truth. The notice reminded that this was not the first time Konda Surekha made such baseless statements; similar defamatory remarks had been made earlier in the year, for which notices were sent in April.
KTR further recalled that the Election Commission had already issued stern warnings to Konda Surekha regarding her previous comments, yet she continues to engage in such activities with ulterior motives. He noted that her recent comments were part of a calculated plan to defame him repeatedly and damage his reputation.
In his legal notice, KTR demanded that Konda Surekha immediately retract her comments and issue a public apology for spreading falsehoods. He warned that if she failed to apologize within 24 hours, he would pursue a defamation lawsuit and criminal proceedings to hold her accountable for her statements.
