Poll Strategy: CM Revanth plans public meetings, candidate nominations side by side
Revanth is personally visiting each segment where the Congress candidate is filing nomination papers
By Mahesh Avadhutha Published on 21 April 2024 7:00 AM GMTHyderabad: Filing of nominations is underway in Telangana with contesting candidates from Congress, BRS and the BJP going in large rallies and processions to returning officers to submit papers.
However, Congress seems to be following a different strategy than the other two. Chief Minister and PCC Chief A Revanth Reddy is personally visiting each segment where the Congress candidate is filing nomination papers and addressing public meetings the same day.
On Friday, Revanth held meetings in Mahabubnagar and Mahabubabad where party candidates C Vamshichand Reddy and P Balram Naik submitted nominations respectively. On Saturday, Revanth Reddyās stop was Medak where he held a corner meeting coinciding with the nomination filing of Congress candidate Neelam Madhu.
Revanthās schedule with contesting candidates
Revanth will be attending the nomination programme of Bhongir Congress candidate Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy on Sunday (April 21) and later address a public meeting. Revanthās next stops will be Malkajgiri and Adilabad (on April 22), Nagarkurnool (on April 23), Zaheerabad and Warangal (on April 24). Congress Lok Sabha contestants will be filing their nominations on the day Revanth will be visiting their segments.
As per the state Congress unit, Revanth Reddy will try to attend the nomination filing of Congress candidates in as many constituencies as possible with a well-planned strategy.
The CM aims to amplify the Congress candidateās winning chances by ensuring the flock and various groups within the party stay and fight together with proper coordination for the next 20-odd days.
Revanth is likely to visit each constituency twice
Ticket aspirants who missed the bus, party seniors and veterans, turncoats and newcomers to the party from the segment will all turn up to meet and greet the CM during his visit and his common message to party functionaries to join hands and ensure Congress victory will yield results. Also, through these segment-level meetings, Revanth would like to connect to the people to highlight what Congress did in the last four months and counter BRSās attacks and allegations.
Congress senior leader Addanki Dayakar says Revanth Reddy is likely to visit each constituency twice or three as part of electioneering. After covering the majority segments during the nomination filing process, he will come back again to these constituencies to address public meetings along with key national leaders, who will be visiting Telangana until campaigning ends in Telangana slated to go for polls on May 13.
It may be mentioned here that Congress general secretary KC Venugopal, who flew down a few days ago to assess the election preparedness of the Telangana Congress unit, is learnt to have given instructions to CM Revanth to take a lead and ensure all work in tandem to ensure majority seats for Congress.
