Poll Violence: Kodangal BRS MLA Patnam Narender booked for attempt to murder
Patnam Narender Reddy and few others reportedly beat him with stones, sticks and abused him.
By Sri Lakshmi Muttevi Published on 25 Nov 2023 5:11 PM GMTTelangana: Kodangal BRS MLA Patnam Narender Reddy and seven others have been booked in an attempt to murder case days before the polls. Patnam Narender Reddy is the brother of BRS minister Patnam Mahender Reddy.
According to the complainant, BRS MLA candidate Patnam Narender Reddy and his men attacked a man- Kura Naresh with sticks, stones and abused him for supporting the Congress. A criminal case has been registered against eight persons including Narender Reddy-who is A1.
On November 25th wee hours, Kura Naresh from Kosgi Town had completed a wedding decor and was returning home. The MLA's and his men intercepted him, they abused the complainant for supporting the Congress. "At that time, MLA Patnam Narender Reddy along with few more persons came in two cars and four motorcycles.
The MLA stopped my bike, abused me for supporting the Congress party. They even beat me with stones and sticks on the head," said the complainant.
While the victim was left bleeding with injuries, the gang of people are said to have created a scary situation in Kosgi Town and attempted to kill him, the FIR said.
The complainant asked the police for protection and a legal action against them. The MLA and his men have been booked under Cr No 220/2023 U/s 30 7, 147, 148, 341, 392, 171-F, 504, 505, 149 IPC & Sec-192 of MV Act -1988.
