President Murmu appoints new Governors, LGs; Shiv Pratap Shukla to head Telangana

Hyderabad: President Droupadi Murmu has appointed Shiv Pratap Shukla as the new Governor of Telangana.
He will succeed Jishnu Dev Varma, who has been appointed Governor of Maharashtra.
A Rashtrapati Bhavan communiqué said the President has announced new appointments and transfers of Governors and Lieutenant Governors across several states and union territories.
Vinai Kumar Saxena, the incumbent Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, has been appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh. He will be succeeded by Taranjit Singh Sandhu, who previously served as Indian Ambassador to the US.
Nand Kishore Yadav has been appointed as the Governor of Nagaland. Former General Officer Commander (GOC) of Srinagar-based 15 Corps Lieutenant General (retd) Syed Ata Hasnain has been named as Governor of Bihar.
R. N. Ravi, the Governor of Tamil Nadu, has been appointed as the Governor of West Bengal. Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Governor of Kerala, will also discharge the functions of Governor of Tamil Nadu.
Kavinder Gupta, Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, has been appointed as Governor of Himachal Pradesh.
President Murmu has also accepted the resignation of Dr. C.V. Ananda Bose, Governor of West Bengal.
All appointments will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices.
