This visit by both senior leaders is expected to provide a significant boost to the Telangana Congress. During his three-day visit, Rahul Gandhi is set to conduct a series of public meetings and connect with labourers, farmers, and party members.
Rahul Gandhi and his sister Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi will begin their visit to the state with the Vijayabheri bus yatra on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, the leaders will commence their bus yatra from the historic Ramappa temple in Mulugu and conclude in Ramanujapuram between 5 and 6 pm. Both leaders will present the Congress’ six guarantees before Lord Shiva as part of their visit, followed by the launch of the Vijayabheri bus yatra.
Subsequently, both leaders will engage with women from the Mulugu and Bhupalpally areas to gain insights into their concerns. Later in the day, Rahul will take up a padayatra in Bhupalpally with the local youth. Rahul Gandhi has been demanding a caste census for equal opportunities in jobs, education and welfare programs, and his speech to the youth is likely to focus on that.
On October 19, he will visit Ramagundam and Peddapalli and interact with Singareni, NTPC workers’ union leaders and RFCL workers' contract job victims in Ramagundam. On the third day, Rahul will visit Nizamabad and interact with turmeric and sugarcane farmers in Armur.
The All-India Congress Committee has released its first list of 55 candidates for Telangana.
