He was on his second recent campaign tour of the poll-bound state, scheduled for state Legislative Assembly elections on November 30.
According to the campaign schedule of the Congress party, it was Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi who was said to address the Kollapur rally. However, she couldnāt attend it as she was down with a viral fever.
Rahul, who took charge of addressing the crowd instead, launched multiple attacks against the incumbent BRS government and BRS party leader and chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
Rahul finds fault with quality of developmental projects
Speaking about the development projects in Telangana, Rahul said that the sinking pillars of the Medigadda barrage and the sunk road on the bridge are an indication of improper work. āCongress has constructed projects like Nagarjuna Sagar, Singur, Sriram Sagar, and more, which can be compared to the Kaleshwaram project,ā he said.
āLook at our projects and look at the Kaleshwaram project,ā he declared to the crowd.
āTo repay the debt incurred by this project, every family in Telangana will have to contribute approximately Rs 31,500 until 2040,ā he said. The Rs 1 lakh crore project is nothing but a lot of corruption by Bharat Rashtra Samithi and Bharatiya Janata Party, he said.
Family Vs people
āThis election is a battle between āDorala Telanganaā and āPrajala Telangana,āā said Rahul, and accused KCR and his family of betraying people on the land issue, using computerisation as an excuse to take over peopleās land. Gandhi said, āDharani portal was to take over the lands of people. Around 20 lakh farmers have been affected and grave injustice meted out to them.ā
āGovernment employees affectedā
State employees are not receiving their salaries on time, and the public sector units are closing down, Rahul pointed out. āKey portfolios such as land revenue, sand, and liquor are under KCRās family to exploit Telangana,ā he alleged.
A huge gathering was present at the meeting in Kollapur and he asked the cadre to stay strong as their time to shine is going to come soon.
According to the party, Rahul Gandhi has events planned for his campaign in Telangana on November 1, such as a padayatra and a rally. According to sources, Congress is going to finalise the final 19 MLA candidates for the Telangana elections by November 1.
