Rain & thunderstorms in Telangana for next 3 days

Hyderabad: Putting a stop to the long dry weather in Hyderabad that has prevailed in the last two months, Telangana has been experiencing a change in weather.

The current weather conditions have been ascribed to extraordinary thunderstorm activity in central India and northern Telangana, with hailstorms and gusty winds reported in Nagpur and surrounding areas. Marpally of Vikarabad district is facing heavy hailstorms since afternoon.

More areas are set to experience heavy hailstorms this week.

A trough or low-pressure system has formed between the Kokan region and the central regions of Chhattisgarh, passing across north Karnataka, Telangana, and Vidarbha. “These circumstances will bring rain to the state,” said a representative from IMD Hyderabad.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, rainfall will be limited to Adilabad, Asifabad, Nirmal, Mancherial, Jagtial, Nizamabad, and Kamareddy over the next 24–48 hours.

“Downpours are forecast in Adilabad, Nirmal, Kumrambheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jagtial, Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Rajanna Sircilla, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, and Karimnagar,” Balaji, popularly known as Telangana Weatherman, said on Twitter.

Weather forecast for Telangana for next 3 days:

Telangana will receive light to moderate rains at a few places on 16 March, followed by thunderstorms in some places on 17 and 18 March.

Weather warnings:

On 16 and 17 March, the state is likely to experience scattered thunder, lightning, and gusty winds (wind speed 30 to 40 mph) along with hail and heavy rains with thunder and lightning.

Severe storms from 16–20 March

Although certain Telangana districts may see light to moderate storms, others will see moderate to heavy rain. According to weather predictors, severe thunderstorms are also likely in several Telangana districts, with considerable rainfall in Hyderabad.

Light to moderate storms are expected in Adilabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial Rajanna Sircilla, Media, Sangareddy, Vikarabad, Mahbubnagar, Narayanpet, Wanaparthy, and Gadwal.

The districts of Asifabad, Mancherial, Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Warangal Urban, Siddipet, Jangaon, Medchal, Yadadri, Bhongir, Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Nalgonda, and Nagarkurnool may see moderate to heavy rains.
