Rathasapthami rush at TTD: All arjitha sevas, special and VIP darshans cancelled on Jan 25

Tirumala: Anticipating an unprecedented surge of devotees during the annual Rathasapthami celebrations, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has announced the cancellation of all arjitha sevas and special darshans on January 25.

Darshans to NRIs, parents with infants and senior citizens also cancelled

The cancelled services include Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Arjitha Brahmotsavam and Sahasra Deepalankara Seva.

In addition, privilege darshans extended to NRIs, parents with infants, senior citizens and persons with disabilities have also been suspended.

TTD has further stated that the issuance of slotted Sarva Darshan tokens in Tirupati will remain cancelled from January 24 to 26, as part of crowd regulation measures. The directions were issued during a comprehensive departmental review meeting held on Wednesday at Annamayya Bhavan in Tirumala.

VIP break darshan restrictions

The temple administration has also imposed restrictions on VIP break darshans during the Rathasapthami period.

Except for protocol dignitaries, all VIP break darshans stand cancelled.

TTD clarified that no recommendation letters for break darshans will be accepted on January 24, reinforcing its focus on ensuring smooth crowd management and prioritising the safety and convenience of the general devotees.

Focus on devotee safety and facilities

Officials were instructed to make foolproof arrangements for security, traffic and parking, queue management, annaprasadam distribution, laddu prasadam supply, sanitation drives and emergency medical services.

The EO emphasised that all measures must be taken to ensure a safe and comfortable darshan experience for pilgrims.

To enhance the festive ambience, cultural programmes will be organised throughout the day. LED screens will be installed in galleries and other high-density devotee areas to enable pilgrims to witness the vahana sevas clearly.

Rathasapthami vahana sevas schedule

TTD has announced the following schedule of vahana sevas on Rathasapthami day:

5.30 am – 8.00 am: Surya Prabha Vahanam

9.00 am – 10.00 am: Chinna Sesha Vahanam

11.00 am – 12.00 noon: Garuda Vahanam

1.00 pm – 2.00 pm: Hanumantha Vahanam

2.00 pm – 3.00 pm: Chakra Snanam

4.00 pm – 5.00 pm: Kalpavriksha Vahanam

6.00 pm – 7.00 pm: Sarvabhoopala Vahanam

8.00 pm – 9.00 pm: Chandra Prabha Vahanam
