Red Alert: KCR declares two days holidays for all educational institutions
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) of Hyderabad issued a red alert, predicting ‘extremely heavy rain’ for certain parts of the state till July 28.

Hyderabad: In view of incessant rains, Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao declared a two-day holiday on July 26 and 27 for all educational institutions. This is for the second time that all educational institutions have been declared holidays keeping in view of the heavy rains prevailng in the state.

A statement was issued by KCR directing Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy on Tuesday night. "In view of the adverse weather conditions prevailing in the state, two days holidays have been declared for all schools (Govt and Aided and private) in the state," read the statement.

Earlier in the day, the deputy commissioner of police, Madhapur, Cyberabad issued a circular listing the company names and their phase-wise logout timings. This comes after Hyderabad city has seen serious traffic woes in the last few days.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) of Hyderabad had forecast very heavy rain for July 26, 27 and 28, as an ‘upper air cyclonic circulation’ over the Bay of Bengal continued to gain momentum. Thereafter the system is likely to move west northwestwards and there will be a reduction in rainfall July 28 onwards.

According to the weathermen, the Lower Pressure Area LPA) strength the effect gonna be more serious than last LPA for whole in Telangana state.
Officials from Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation urged people in the city to avoid unnecessary travel and step outdoors only if essential. Teams of the Director of Enforcement for Vigilance and Disaster Management have been put on alert.
Universities postpone exams
Colleges under the jurisdiction of Osmania University in Telangana will be closed for 2 days-- July 26 and 27. Registrar of the University said that all the examinations scheduled for these two days are also postponed. Dates of the rescheduled exams will be announced shortly.
Due to incessant rains, Registrar Potti Sriramulu Telugu University informed that the scheduled entrance exams to be held July 27 and 28 are postponed. These exams will be held in due course. Candidates will be informed of the new schedule shortly.
