Hyderabad: In a significant relief to 563 Group-I candidates, the Telangana High Court Division Bench has ordered TGPSC to issue their appointment orders. It also clarified that the appointments will remain subject to the outcome of the pending writ appeals.
Division bench suspends single judge order
The Division Bench, headed by Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice GM Mohiuddin, suspended the September 9 order of Single Judge Justice Namavarapu Rajeshwar Rao.
The Single Judge had earlier set aside the final marks list (March 10) and the General Ranking List (March 30) and directed TGPSC to re-evaluate all Group-I answer scripts applying the moderation method as per the Sanjay Singh and Another vs. State of UP Public Service Commission judgment.
Way cleared for issuance of appointment orders
With the suspension of the Single Judge’s order, TGPSC is now empowered to issue appointment orders to the selected candidates. However, these appointments will be provisional, pending the final judgment in the Writ Appeals.
Next hearing scheduled for October 15
The writ appeals filed by TGPSC have been adjourned to October 15, when the court will hear arguments and deliver the final ruling.
