On Friday, the timings will be stretched to 10 p.m, however, it will be lifted from Saturday, a senior cop told NewsMeter.
Earlier, following massive protests, the Hyderabad police had issued 'off the record' directions to all commercial establishments, especially those located in the Old City area, to shut shop between 7 p.m and 8 p.m every day, indefinitely. This was done in order to bring the situation under control.
It is to recall that following the release of BJP Goshamahal MLA T. Raja Singh on Tuesday evening, widespread protests rocked parts of the Old City. However, on Thursday, peace returned to the city after the police arrested the MLA under the PD Act. Currently, he is lodged in Cherlapally jail.
