Revanth Reddy discusses swearing-in arrangements with police; CLP to decide leader soon

By Newsmeter Network Published on 3 Dec 2023 11:24 AM GMTTelangana: After the poll results showed that the Congress party crossed the majority mark in the Telangana Assembly elections and is set to form its government, Revanth Reddy, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president met with Anjani Kumar, Telangana DGP and other senior police officials and discussed the preparations for the swearing-in ceremony.
Revanth also mentioned that they are going to meet the Telangana governor Tamilisai Soundararajan soon to discuss the same. According to party sources, the TPCC president said that from Sunday evening āmuhurtam will start so they may consider swearing function on Monday.ā There is also a possibility that they may do the ceremony on December 9.
Security arrangements
The TPCC president informed DGP that many former and current chief ministers including senior leaders from Delhi will participate in the swearing-in ceremony, which may be conducted at LB Stadium. They discussed how to organise the function smoothly without causing much inconvenience to the common public.
The TPCC president also asked the DGP to make adequate security arrangements at all important places. The DGP said that each winning candidate will get police security cover (2+2) and the senior party leaders will get a higher category of security apparatus. The security wing has been asked to prepare the threat perception report for all elected candidates.
Later, the DGP held a meeting with CP Hyderabad, Addl CP Vikram Singh Mann, Addl CP Traffic Sudheer Babu, ISW IGP Tafseer Iqubal along with Sanjay Jain and Mahesh Bhagwat and planned for effective bandobust for the LB stadium function.
CLP to decide Telanganaās leader
Meanwhile, the CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that the Congress Legislature Party will meet soon to elect its leader transparently and democratically. He secured the victory for the fourth consecutive term defeating his nearest old rival BRS candidate L Kamal Raj with a thumping majority.
Emerging from the counting centre, he spoke to the media persons on Sunday. He thanked profusely the people of Madhira for giving him victory with abundant trust in him.
The state of Telangana came to light after a 10-year darkness. āWe convert the Pragati Bhavan into a public administrative building. We make people part of our ruling. In the Indiramma rajyam there will be no scope for monarchic tendencies,ā he said.
Vikramarka advised the authorities work for the well-being of the society giving up the old habits. He wanted them to be accountable to the people and impartial in the administration.
Resolution on Six Guarantees in first Cabinet meeting
He said that the people of Telangana voted for liberty, brotherhood, independence and prosperity. In the first Cabinet meeting itself a resolution would be passed on Six Guarantees to implement them in the next 100 days, he added.
The senior Congress leader said that the people responded well to the messages of Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and Priyanka Gandhi and voted out the Dorala Telangana paving the way for the Prajala Telangana. He also thanked the Congress cadres, friendly parties and supporters.
