Revanth Reddy is new CM of Telangana, takes oath in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Anumula Revanth Reddy took oath as the new chief minister of the state on Thursday following the party's victory in the recent Assembly elections. His deputy CM is elected as Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu.

Crowd cheered when Revanth Reddy took the oath as chief minister of the state.

Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) chairperson Sonia Gandhi and party leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi attended the swearing-in ceremony at LB stadium.

The names were cleared by All India Congress Committee for deputy chief minister, speaker and cabinet ministers for Telangana Assembly. Revanth Reddy in his 55 public rallies in the state had appealed to people that Telangana must thank Sonia Gandhi for agreeing to fulfil the aspirations of people for the state. Today during the swearing-in ceremony Sonia Gandhi came along with chief minister Revanth Reddy to the stadium in the open car and greeted the people.

The Speaker of the Assembly is Gaddam Prasad.

AICC President Mallikarjuna Kharge, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, KC Venugopal, Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukh and other leaders attended the event.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Revanth Reddy Garu on taking oath as the Chief Minister of Telangana.

The Prime Minister posted on X:

“Congratulations to Shri Revanth Reddy Garu on taking oath as the Chief Minister of Telangana. I assure all possible support to further the progress of the state and the welfare of its citizens.”
