Row over Madhavi Latha’s shooting imaginary arrow at Hyderabad mosque; Is EC blind asks Asaduddin Owaisi

By Newsmeter Network Published on 18 April 2024 3:34 PM GMTHyderabad: After a video of Kompella Madhavi Latha, BJP’s candidate from Hyderabad Lok Sabha, directing an imaginary arrow at a mosque during a Ram Navami procession went viral, she has given a clarification that her video is being circulated in media to create negativity.
“I would like to clarify that it’s an incomplete video and even because of such video if anyone’s sentiments are hurt then I would like to apologise as I respect all individuals,” wrote Madhavi on X.
Latha was participating in a Ram Navami procession near Siddiamber Bazaar Junction in old Hyderabad, and riding an open-top vehicle.
The rally was organised by BJP MLA T Raja Singh. In the video, Madhavi Latha is seen stretching her arms into a position like drawing an arrow and directing it at a mosque which was covered with a white cloth.
Reacting to this, AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi criticised her for the objectionable gesture of an arrow towards a religious place during the Ram Navami rally and asked if the EC is blind.
He also fired on Raja Singh over making derogatory remarks.
“People of Hyderabad had seen BJP’s intentions. They will not accept BJP-RSS's vulgar and provocative actions. Is this the ‘Viksit Bharat’ BJP is talking about? Are elections bigger than the peace of Hyderabad? I am confident that the people of Telangana will vote against BJP who are against peace in the state,” he said.
Owaisi questioned the EC, Hyderabad Commissioner, the District Election Officer and the Chief Electoral Officer for not taking suo motu action against the BJP candidate.
