Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Hyderabad, has registered a case of disproportionate assets against Herur Nikesh Kumar, assistant executive engineer (now under suspension), Irrigation Department, Hyderabad. They found assets with a total worth of Rs 17.73 crores.
The accused officer had acquired assets disproportionate to his known source of income by indulging in unlawful practices and dubious means during his service. Searches were conducted at Nikesh Kumarās house and 19 other places which belonged to him and his relatives.
During the searches, the officials found property documents pertaining to five house plots, 6.5 acres of agricultural land, six flats and two commercial spaces.

The searches revealed that Nikesh Kumar acquired movable and immovable properties worth Rs 17,73,53,500. The market value is expected to be much higher than the official value. Further investigation is in progress.
Earlier, he was caught red-handed by ACB on May 30, 2024, while accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from a complainant for issuing the NOC for the construction of a building.
