By Coreena Suares Published on 13 Oct 2023 8:48 AM GMTHyderabad: Sleuths of Income Tax raided a flat in Bengaluru and seized cash worth Rs 42 crore, the house belongs to a former woman corporator located in Atmananda Colony near RT Nagar.
The raid has raised eyebrows as the BRS party in Telangana called it an 'election funding' for the Congress in Telangana.
The bundles of cash were found beneath the bed at a flat in Bengaluru, reports said. The raid comes ahead of the elections to five states. Sources said, the money is being collected to fund elections in five states. The cash was in the form of Rs 500 denomination notes to the tune of Rs 42 crore, they were kept in 23 boxes under the bed.

Following the development, the IT officers are questioning the former corporator and her husband at their residence.
