Hyderabad: The Telangana government informed the High Court that a rule has been incorporated to ensure teachers and their spouses are posted in one place.
Additional Advocate General J. Ramchander Rao said rule 6(11) (c ) had been incorporated to ensure that the husband and wife stay together
A division bench of Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice T. Vinod Kumar was hearing the batch of writ petitions filed by teachers (Head Master / Head Mistress Gr.II Gaz.) School Assistants/SGTs and other equivalent posts) working in various government schools challenging their transfers.
Petitioners said Telangana Teachers Regulation of Transfers rules, 2023 were made applicable to the teachers without placing them on the floor of the House.
Additional. The Advocate General informed the Court that the rules were placed on the floor of the Legislative Assembly in the recently held session.
Additional AG informed the Court that due to the Interim Stay on the transfer, nearly 60,000 teachers transfers have been halted and the administration in the Education Department has come to a grinding halt.
After hearing the Additional Advocate General, the Court adjourned the Batch of Writ Petitions.
The matter is adjourned for a final hearing.
