Saroornagar honor killing: Girl's kin arrested

Hyderabad: Saroornagar Police nabbed the two offenders who had brutally murdered Billipuram Nagaraju on Thursday. On 4 May, at about 9 pm, the two people had murdered Nagaraju with an iron rod and a knife at Panjala Anil Kumar Colony, Saroornagar. A case has been registered under section 302 IPC & Sec 3(2)(V) of SC/ST (POA) Amendment Act- 2015 in Saroornagar PS.

The accused had been identified as Syed Mobin Ahmed (30), a resident of Balanagar, and Muhammed Masood Ahmed (29), a resident of Ranga Reddy. They developed a grudge against Nagaraju as he had married the sister of Syed. The accused hatched a plan and brutally murdered the deceased by beating Nagaraju with an iron rod over his head and stabbing him with a knife. Billipuram Nagaraju, aged 25 years, a resident of Vikarabad, was doing marketing in Maruthi Showroom in Malakpet. The accused were arrested on 5 May and will be produced before the Hon'ble Court for judicial custody.

Modus Operandi

The deceased Billipuram Nagaraju, who belongs to the SC-Mala Community, and Ashrin Sulthana of the Muslim community were in a relationship for more than five years. They were classmates from school, and both studied in the same school and college. She is the sister of the accused, Syed Mobin Ahmed. Sensing that his sister was in love with Nagaraju, Syed Mobin Ahmed warned her. On 30 January 2022, she came out of her house at IDPL Colony, Balanagar, by leaving her mobile phone in her house. On the next day, Nagaraju and Ashrin Sulthana got married at Arya Samaj in Old City, Hyderabad.

On 1 February, her family members filed a missing case in Balanagar PS. Since then, her brother Syed Mobin developed grudges against the Nagaraju. The accused hatched a plan to kill the deceased anyway.

One month ago, Syed and Muhammed tried to locate Nagaraju but failed to identify his location. On 4 May, both of them started searching the location, and initially, they found Nagaraju at the Maruthi show room in Malakapet, but it was not convenient to carry out their plan to kill him. Then, they followed him on their scooter and found him at Panjala Anil Kumar colony, Saroornagar. Suddenly, they stopped him while he and his wife, Ashrin Sulthana, proceeded on their bike.

Syed pushed him, and he fell to the ground. He immediately started beating Nagaraju with an iron rod over his head. They brutally murdered the deceased by beating him with a centering iron rod over his head and stabbing him with a knife. After confirming his death, they fled away.
