Hyderabad: Vodka, whiskey, and brandy will now become cheaper.
The Telangana Excise department has revised the Special Excise cess on these three, and this will only be applicable to stocks dispatched from the bottling units from May 5.
An order has been passed by the Telangana State Beverages Corporation Limited to reduce special excise cases on Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) and Foreign Liquor (other than beer & RTD) brands.
According to the order, the stocks held by IMFL depots including waiting trucks before the IMFL depots and stock in transit i.e. dispatched prior to May 5, and reaching the IMFL depots on or after the date, will have to be sold at existing rates.
Here is the revised price list
"Further, the registered IMFL & FL suppliers (other than beer & RTD) are directed to dispatch stock from May 5 at the revised MRP. Further stocks held at Finished Goods Stores (FGS) shall be dispatched to their depots after affixing a sticker with the revised ARP (inclusive of all taxes) as required under The Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules 2011. The sticker shall not cover MRP declaration made by the manufacturer on the label," read the Order.
