Hyderabad: A young girl lost her life in a horrifying accident at Kalasiguda in Secunderabad.

Mounika, a 4th standard student, had gone to buy milk packets with her 15-year-old mentally challenged brother.

According to reports, Mounica's brother fell into a broken pathway. While trying to save her brother, she slipped into the pathway. The strong currents of the water quickly swept her away. Despite the efforts of onlookers, she could not be rescued.

Local authorities were alerted to the incident, and the Disaster Response Force (DRF) team quickly arrived at the scene. The search for Mounika went on for several hours. Later her body was found near a nala at Park Lane, Secunderabad.

Residents blamed GHMC for negligence. They demanded immediate action to ensure that such tragedies do not occur again in the future.

Secunderabad Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi reached the incident place and asked the officials for details. The Mayor visited the family and announced an ex gratia of Rs.2 lakhs.

Weather conditions:

According to Regional Meteorological Centre, Hyderabad is likely to witness rain or thundershowers on Saturday along with strong gusty gusts. MeT said rain is expected to fall in the city through May 4.

The city's maximum and minimum temperatures are predicted to be in the range of 33 and 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

Beginning Sunday, the city may see a mainly gloomy sky with occasional rain or thundershowers through Thursday, with a major rainfall on May 2 possible.

Friday rain leaves Hyderabad waterlogged

Several GHMC areas were submerged on Friday. In addition to Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal, Yadadri, and Medak Districts also experienced severe rain on Friday.

Hyderabad was anticipated to receive a lot of rain on Thursday and Friday. MeT had issued an orange alert and warned about hailstorms.
