Attn selected Haj pilgrims: Deposit first installment of Rs 81,800

Haj Committee of India (HCI) has asked the provisionally selected Haj pilgrims to deposit the first installment of Rupees 81,800 on or before April 7, 2023.

Pilgrims may pay the amount either online at www.hajcommittee.gov.in or through any branch of State Bank of India or Union Bank of India having a core Banking System by using the Bank Reference Number in the specified pay-in-slip on the website to the Haj Committee of India’s accounts maintained with SBI or UBI. The unique Bank Reference Number provided for each Cover must be mentioned in the Deposit Receipt.

Haj Committee advised the provisionally selected pilgrims that after depositing the Advance amount they shall submit a copy of the pay-in-slip, along with Medical Screening and Fitness Certificate (format available on the website) and original International Machine Readable International Passport to the concerned State Haj Committee on or before 15-04-2023. Consequently, State/UT Haj Committees have to upload the Documents of the pilgrims on day to day basis to avoid any delay in the submission of Passports of provisionally selected pilgrims of Haj 2023 to the High Commission of India by 15-04-2023.

Haj Committee of India stated that the next installments will be decided after taking into consideration the finalization of Airfare amount and expenses in Saudi Arabia and the same will be intimated shortly.

Meanwhile, the Haj Committee has started the process to select KuH i.e. Khadim-ul-Hujjaj (Assistant to pilgrims) from each state/UT to the ratio of 1 for 300 pilgrims. Candidates desirous to be selected as KuH have to fill up the application online and upload requisite documents as specified in the application form available on its website. They have machine-readable valid Indian Passports issued on or before 20th March 2023 and valid at least up to 3rd February 2024. The last date for submission of the online application is 10th April 2023. Male/Female applicants whose age does not exceed 50 years as on 30th April 2023 are eligible.

Chairman Telangana State Haj Committee Mohammed Saleem informed that applicants must be permanent government employees, who have already performed Haj or Umrah and have sound knowledge of Haj-related activities and preference shall be given to those who are well acquainted with the Arabic language. They must be vaccinated with all required doses of approved Covid-19 vaccines. He said those senior officers like Class-A officers of Central or State Government or equivalent are also not eligible.
