Seven Telangana IPS retirements in 2025: DCA Chief Kamalasan Reddy in April, DGP Jitender in September
Hyderabad: Telangana Drug Control Administration (DCA) director VB Kamalasan Reddy is among the seven IPS officers set to retire in 2025, as per an official notification issued by the Telangana Government.
As per the order, Kamalasan Reddy will retire on April 30. Apart from the DCA, Reddy is also serving in Full Additional Charge of Director, Prohibition & Excise. D Uday Kumar Reddy, SP of Medak police, is set to retire on May 31; V Satyanarayana, IGP Multi Zone II, will retire from his service on June 30, and Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy, Director General, Vigilance & Enforcement, will retire on August 31.

In August 2024, the State government promoted five IPS officers (1994-batch) Kothakota Sreenivas Reddy, B Shivdhar Reddy, Abhilasha Bhist, Soumya Mishra and Shikha Goel were promoted to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP) above super time scale, level 16 in the pay matrix of IPS (Pay) Rules, 2016.
Sreenivas Reddy was promoted to the DGP rank while serving as the Hyderabad Commissioner of Police. Telangana DGP Dr Jitender will retire on September 30. Additional Commissioner (Traffic) P Viswaprasad will finish his tenure on November 30, while Ravi Gupta, Special Chief Secretary to Government, Home Department, will retire on December 31.
