Shiv Nadar 'India's Most Generous', donated Rs. 3 cr per day, Azim Premji is 2th: Huran report

He donated Rs. 3 crores per day, mostly towards the field of education, making a total of Rs. 1,161 crores of annual donations.
Wipro's Azim Premji slipped to the second rank this year with an annual donation of Rs. 484 crores. Premji is also the only living Indian to be featured in the Hurun Philanthropists of the Century list.
Reliance Industries' Mukesh Ambani came third on the list with an annual donation of Rs. 411 crores.
Nadar, Azim Premji, and Ambani, all three of them contributed largely to the education sector.
Aditya Birla Group's Kumar Mangalam family, who made an annual donation of Rs. 242 crores, mainly contributed towards the healthcare sector. Susmita and Subrato Bagchi and Radha and N.S Parthasarathy of Mindtree company, who came fifth in the list, also contributed largely towards healthcare.
With a donation of Rs. 190 crores, India's richest man Gautam Adani came seventh on the list.
Women philanthropists
Six women philanthropists feature in the list. With a donation of Rs. 120 crores, Rohini Nilekani is the most generous woman philanthropist in India followed by Leena Gandhi Tewari and Anu Aga who donated Rs. 21 crores and Rs. 20 crores, respectively.
Rise in personal philanthropy in India
According to Hurun's research, this year, 15 Indians made an annual donation of Rs. 100 crores, 20 over Rs. 50 crores, and 43 over Rs. 20 crores.

Cumulative personal donations grew by 50% up to Rs. 3,097 crores, and this constitutes 55% of donations in the list.
