āAs she has not sought any permission for the said protest program, I along with men and women staff reached the house of Sharmila at Lotus Pond to inform and prevent her from going to SIT office. At about 10:45 am, all of a sudden she came out of her house in a Vellfire vehicle. When we tried to stop her car, the driver at her instigation drove in the most dangerous manner and rammed into me and other police officers. However, we stopped the vehicle. She got from the car, pushed away the woman staff walked for a little distance, and again for the second time she got into her Fortuner,ā Ravinder said
He said at her instigation, driver C Babu drove the vehicle dangerously knowing fully that such action may injure the police officers. āM Giri Babu received an injury on his left leg. We stopped her car. While asking the driver to get down, Sharmila slapped me and other woman constables including Anusuja and Anusha and hurled a series of abusive words against the police. She tried to snatch my VHF handset and also grabbed my nameplate and threw it on the road,ā the FIR said.
The complainant said Sharmila not only caused obstruction to the police officers while discharging official duties but also assaulted me and a woman constable and also instigated her driver to ram her car dangerously on him and other officers on duty causing injury to one constable.
