Stone pelting: Jagan suffers injury on forehead at Memantha Siddham yatra
He continued his bus yatra after receiving first aid
By Sri Lakshmi Muttevi Published on 13 April 2024 4:10 PM GMTVijayawada: Unknown micreants pelted stone on Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy during his Memantha Siddham bus yatra in Vijayawada on Saturday night.
It was Day 14 of his 21-day bus yatra which was started as a part of election campaign ahead of the elections in Andhra Pradesh. The yatra entered Vijayawada today.
While Jagan was greeting the public near Vivekananda School Centre in Singhnagar, he got an injury on his left eyebrow after being hit by a stone. MLA Vellampalli who was standing next to Jagan sustained an injury in his left eye.
The stone hit Jagan at a very high velocity and officials are suspecting that it could have been launched from a catapult.

He was injured near his eyebrow. Doctors immediately provided first aid and he continued his yatra.

Vijayawada YSRCP leaders suspect that Jagan was attacked by TDP people.
EC to take action:
CEO Mukesh Kumar Meena who has taken the attack on Jagan seriously asked Vijayawada CP Kanti Rana to give report. The CEO who took the preliminary information from CP.
He asked the to inspect the area where the incident took place and submit a full report.
Leaders condem the attack
Responding on the incident, Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin condemned the stone pelting on Jagan. "Political differences should never escalate to violence. Let's uphold civility and mutual respect as we engage in the democratic process. Wishing him a quick recovery," Stalin wrote on X.
"Glad you are safe. Strongly condemn the attack on AP CM Jagan. Violence has no place in democracy and I hope strict preventive measures are put in place by ECI," Wrote BRS party president KTR.
Speaking to the media, Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani said, "After witnessing the public response, nothing can hinder Jagan Mohan Reddy's return to power. Despite deliberate attempts by the opposition, CM Jagan is poised to secure the highest number of seats. I caution the opposition to stop such malicious and cowardly acts. There should be a thorough police investigation into this incident. This is a grave matter. It appears to be a targeted attack on CM."
He said the YSRCP will take this incident seriously and will also approach the Election Commission in Delhi.
