Summer is here: Half day for Telangana Schools from March 15
Schools will close for summer vacation from April 24 to June 11, with the new academic year commencing on June 12

Hyderabad: Amid rising temperatures, the Telangana School Education Department has declared a half-day schedule for schools across the State.
This change in school timings is intended to alleviate the impact of rising temperatures and create a more conducive learning environment for everyone involved in the education sector.
Starting March 15, all primary, upper primary, and high schoolsāincluding government, government-aided, and private institutionsāwill function from 8 am to 12 pm. In government-run schools, mid-day meals will be served at 12:30 pm.

Schools will close for summer vacation from April 24 to June 11, with the new academic year commencing on June 12.
This year, various regions in the state are expected to witness temperatures of up to 40 degrees Celsius, while Hyderabad is expected to enjoy temperatures of 36 to 38 degrees.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Hyderabad warned of a gradual rise in maximum temperatures, causing officials to provide a list of doās and donāts to avoid heat-related ailments.
