Summer power supply: Telangana makes action plan for farmers, consumers

Hyderabad: “The state government is committed to providing high-quality power to farmers and commercial consumers, and the department has taken all necessary steps in this regard,” said Telangana deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu.

The deputy chief minister participated in a video link conference with the CMDs and SEs at the Dr. BR Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat here on Wednesday and evaluated the summer energy action plan. Bhatti Vikramarka stated that he has noticed some small issues in certain locations, even in spite of the fact that there is a large demand for electricity and the capacity to supply it. There won't be any complaints, he added, if issues related to overload and maintenance are promptly coordinated and fixed.

Line Clearance work should be carried out during nights

The deputy chief minister advised the officials to carry out line clearance (LC) work at night for maintenance in commercial areas. It also takes less time to take LC in rural locations, one after another. Measures should be taken by the officials to inform the customers in the respective areas in advance about the LC taking time, he said, and he added that the local electricity authorities should talk to the MLAs and MPs and explain that they have the capacity to supply enough electricity to meet the demand.

Power dept geared up to handle demand during summer

Bhatti Vikramarka highlighted that the demand for power supply had increased compared to the previous year. To that extent, he asked the officials to provide information to the local media about measures being taken to increase the supply. Keeping in mind that there will be a demand for electricity for the next three months, he explained that the department has been working for the last four months and has completed the arrangements.

Cyber crime case against individuals for disseminating fake information

The deputy chief minister also said that there are already plans in place to provide the farmers with uninterrupted power supplies. He suggested the officials lodge a cybercrime case against individuals who disseminate fake information on purpose. During the conference, Bhatti Vikramarka gave an assurance that district-level officials would visit the field and report any issues to the CMD. The officials would then have full support around the clock, he added.

Bhatti Vikramarka directed the officials to make the call center more capable of handling public complaints. Each customer call should be logged, and he should be notified periodically of the complaints' resolutions. Principal Secretary of Energy SAM Rizvi, CMDs TSSPDCL and NPDCL Musharaf and Varun Reddy, and other officials attended the video link conference.

Singareni Collieries Company issues notification to fill vacant posts

Earlier, Bhatti Vikramarka also issuesd orders to Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) CMD Balaram Naik to issue SCCL direct recruitment notification to fill 317 posts and 168 internal recruitment posts immediately. He also asked the SCCL to provide 1,000 jobs this year.
