After getting approval from the Central Government and consent from the president, the transferred judges will assume charge in the respective high courts

Supreme Court Collegium recommends transfer of 7 HC judges: 2 from Telangana, 1 from Andhra

Hyderabad: The Supreme Court Collegium, in its recently held two meetings, has recommended the transfer of seven judges of high courts—two from Telangana, four from Karnataka and one from Andhra Pradesh—to infuse inclusivity and diversity and to strengthen the quality of administration of justice.

The following transfers are recommended by the SC collegium:

1. Justice Perugu Sree Sudha from the Telangana High Court to the Karnataka HC.

2. Justice Kasoju Surendhar aka K Surender from Telangana High Court to Madras HC.

3. Justice Heman Chandanagoudar from the Karnataka High Court to the Madras HC.

4. Justice Krishnan Natarajan from the Karnataka High Court to the Kerala HC.

5. Justice Neranahalli Srinivasan Sanjay Gowda from the Karnataka High Court to the Gujarat HC.

6. Justice Dixit Krishna Sripad from the Karnataka High Court to the Orissa HC

7. Justice Dr Kumbhajadala Manmadha Rao from the Andhra Pradesh High Court to the Karnataka HC.

After getting approval from the Central Government and consent from the president, the transferred judges will assume charge in the respective high courts.

Justice P Sree Sudha

Justice P Sree Sudha was elevated to the Bench as Permanent Judge, High Court for the State of Telangana and assumed charge as such on October 15, 2021.

Justice Sree Sudha, who hails from Adoni of Kurnool District, Rayalaseema, AP, secured a Law Degree from AC College of Law, Guntur. Enrolled as a member on the rolls of the Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh and had law practice at Tenali, Srikalahasti and Kavali respectively.

Justice P Sree Sudha was selected as Direct Recruit District Judge and inducted on August 21, 2002 and completed 19 years of service as First Additional District and Sessions Judge, Nizamabad, Special Judge for Bomb Blast Cases-cum-Additional Judge for Family Court, Hyderabad, chairperson for Land Appellate Tribunal-cum-II Additional District Judge, Hyderabad, Industrial Tribunal for Warangal and Khammam Districts, Judge, Mahila Court, Metropolitan Sessions Judge at Vijayawada, as Principal District and Sessions Judge at Karimnagar, Visakhapatnam, Nizamabad and as Chief Judge, City Civil Court, Hyderabad, Special Judge for ACB Cases, Hyderabad, Chairperson, VAT Appellate Tribunal, Transport Appellate Tribunal and as Director, Judicial Academy, Secunderabad, and gained commendable exposure in various branches of law.

Justice Kasoju Surender

Justice Kasoju Surender hails from Mahabubnagar, Telangana State. He was elevated as permanent Judge of the High Court for the State of Telangana on March 24, 2022.

Earlier, he enrolled himself as an Advocate with the Bar Council of the erstwhile State of Andhra Pradesh in 1992. Later, he was appointed as Assistant Additional Standing Counsel for the Central Government in the High Court of Andhra Pradesh in the year 2005 to 2008.

He was appointed as senior counsel for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to prosecute the Satyam Ramalingam Raju case in 2009. He was also appointed to the High Court as Standing Counsel and Special Public Prosecutor for CBI in the year 2010. He was appointed as Special Senior Counsel to argue the cases of former AP chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in 2012.

Again, he was appointed as Special Public Prosecutor for CBI cases in 2013, 2017 and 2020 for the fourth time and continued till his elevation. He was also appointed as Special Counsel for NIA to prosecute the 2013 Dilsukhnagar Blast case. He was also appointed by the Counter-Intelligence, State of Telangana, for prosecuting the Lumbini Park, Gokul Chat Bomb Blast cases. He successfully prosecuted, and capital punishment was awarded in all the terror-related cases.

He was also appointed as Special Counsel for the Enforcement Directorate in 2020.

THCAA Condemns Transfer of Two Telangana High Court Judges

Telangana High Court Advocates Association (THCAA) has decided to conduct an Extraordinary General Body Meeting on Tuesday at 1.35p.m., in the Association Hall, condemning the transfer of Telangana High Court Judges, Justice K. Surender and Smt. Justice Perugu Sree Sudha.

Moreover, the association will pass a resolution condemning the transfer of the two Judges selectively and demanding transparency in judicial postings and transfers.
