Suryapet woman rubs chilli powder in ganja-addicted son's eyes as punishment

Hyderabad: In a shocking video that surfaced on Twitter on Monday afternoon, a 15-year-old boy was tied to a pole and chilli powder rubbed in his eyes by his mother. The brutal punishment was meted out in Kodad in Suryapet district.

The mother punished the boy for consuming ganja. According to her, the boy has been addicted to ganja for a year and unable to convince him to quit, she had taken such a step to change him. Later, in a video, Ramana, the mother said, "My son has been addicted to ganja for a year. We go for daily wage labour and we don't know how he got addicted." She also said that she didn't want the boy's life to be ruined.

Narasimha Reddy, the CI of Kodad police station, said, "The boy is not staying at home and comes home only once in five days. His mother found that he is allegedly addicted to ganja." He added that no case has been registered.
