Sweet & festive: These bakers are giving desserts a Christmas makeover

Hyderabad: December is the yummiest month of the year as it is a season of cookies and cakes. As the celebrations begin, it is also the time to say goodbye to a beautiful year with its many good and bad memories. This is the month where we eat the most cakes and cookies.

Two years after the Covid-19 pandemic during which time Christmas celebrations were rarely seen, this year will be a special one for many bakers who are surprising people with a whole bunch of goodies they are making for Christmas. Bakers are having the busiest week, getting orders for plum cakes, gift hampers, and Christmas-themed desserts.

Here are some bakers who are creating magic with their desserts:

The Dark Love, Vizag

Sprinkling some Christmas magic this year, Bhavika Nahata of The Dark Love again surprises people with her special gift box. A box of brownie tree, crinkle cookies, salted caramel sandwiched cookies, a meringue wreath, and shortbread are some of her best ideas for this Christmas. Bhavika has also introduced a DIY Christmas cookie kit with shortbread cookies, royal icing cones, and sprinklers which can be decorated on the tree and later eaten. Also, do not forget the delicious Christmas cupcakes. The bakery is located in Vizag.

Bake My Wish, Vizag

As the name says, Sirisha Challa truly brings out what people wish to eat. Everyone must begin their December mornings this Christmas with a coffee and her Babka wreaths in four flavours. Bake My Wish launched Brigadeiro, a traditional Brazilian dessert in chocolate and coconut flavours, for the first time. Do not miss their Brownie Bento Box with chocolate/caramel/Nutella dips. Bake My Wish is located in Vizag.

Whisk Little, Vizag

Sonali Asrani's Whisk Little, located in Vizag, has already got an overwhelming response this Christmas. Their ginger cookies, not found easily in the local markets, are a specialty. When there, do not forget to try their Fraisier Cake, a classic French cake traditionally made with two layers of genoise sponge soaked in strawberry syrup with diplomat cream and packed with fresh strawberries for this season.

Blissful bite, Hyderabad

After the challenging years of the Covid-19 pandemic that restricted celebrations to our homes, Hyderabad-based Ritu Mutchall's Blissful Bites has gone an extra mile to come up with a special menu. Some of their goodies include Santa and reindeer-themed mini cakes in Decadent Chocolate Ganache flavour, Xmas tree brownies, chocolate truffles with and without rum, and their signature Almond Buttercrunch Chocolates. With flexible gift hampers, Ritu makes it a point to make customized hampers.

N Bakes, Hyderabad

An MMBS student-turned-home baker, Nisha of Hyderabad's N Bakes pursued her hobby of baking during the Covid-19 lockdown. Letting her stress out through baking and experimenting with recipes for hours, she now bakes the yummiest cakes. Baking everything from scratch with no premade mixes is her style. This Christmas, she has received several orders for her Christmas-themed cupcakes and plum cakes.

Cookbookbyvaish, Instagram page

There is always a hidden baker in every one of us but it rarely comes out. This Christmas, Vaishnavi Patil Dhumal, through her cooking reels on her Instagram page "cookbookbyvaish" is inspiring many to bring out the baker inside them. This season, for those who are running out of ideas for Christmas desserts, Vaishnavi has 'Christmas Pudding Modak' and 'Chocolate Dipped Candied Oranges'. Check out her page for delicious and easy recipes and surprise your guests this Christmas.
