Telangana Day: Revanth sends special invite to KCR; Congress hopeful on Sonia’s presence at celebration
A special letter written by Revanth Reddy inviting KCR on June 2nd
By Newsmeter Network Published on 30 May 2024 3:31 PM GMTHyderabad: On the occasion of Telangana Formation Day, chief minister Revanth Reddy has written a special letter to former CM K Chandrashekar Rao inviting him to participate in the official program of the Telangana Aurbhava Dasabdi Utsav being organised by the State Government at the Parade Ground on June 2 at 10 am.
A special invitation has also been personally delivered by CM Revanth Reddy to senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi. The presence of these two leaders at the function is going to be the most watched event on June 2.
State advisors will personally invite KCR
The special letter written to KCR will be personally delivered by protocol advisor Harkara Venugopal and director Arvind Singh.
The protocol office reached out to KCR’s staff and it was learnt that he is at the farmhouse in Gajwel.
According to sources, Harkara Venugopal and director Arvind Singh are going there to deliver the letter personally to KCR.
Sonia Gandhi agreed ‘in principle’
Sonia Gandhi has agreed to come but her health is an issue regarding her attending the event in person. However, most leaders of the Telangana Congress party are optimistic about her presence on June 2.
‘Jaya Jaya he Telangana’ official song
Regarding the new state song, two versions with 2.30 minutes and 13.30 minutes duration respectively have been approved by the government. The song will be released during the celebrations. The song has been accepted by all stakeholders so that future generations remember the sacrifices of Telangana martyrs.
‘Song approved without change’
Noted Telangana poet and writer Andesri declared that the song written 20 year ago has been accepted without any changes. Oscar winner MM Keeravani composed music and sang the state song.
Emblem and statue
The new emblem of the state and Telangana Talli statue will be presented in the State Assembly for approval. CM Revanth Reddy said that the state song has been approved based on the decision taken in the Cabinet meeting. The Cabinet also took the decision to change the state's official emblem and Telangana Talli statue.
500 samples for statue
The government has received 500 samples from artists from different parts of the state for the statue. All the designs are still under discussion and none has been finalised yet.
Misconceptions and propaganda
CM Revanth Reddy said, “The final decision regarding emblem and statue will be taken in the Assembly. There will be discussion so that there is no scope for misconceptions and false propaganda. The government is preparing an action plan to uphold the prestige and inspire future generations. The decision will be based on the acceptance of all.”
Telangana Formation Day schedule:
- At 9.30 am at Gun Park, the chief minister will pay tributes to those who sacrificed their lives for the cause of Telangana State at Amara Veerula Stupam.
- CM will unfurl the national flag at the parade ground at 10 am. There will be a parade of police forces.
- The official anthem of Telangana state will be unveiled.
- Senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi will give her speech followed by chief minister A Revanth Reddy’s address.
- Awards are given to police personnel and best contingents.
Tank Bund celebrations
A carnival has been organised at Tank Bund which will mirror art forms of the state. There are 700 artists who will participate, in cultural dance performances for 70 minutes on the stage.
A flag walk has been planned with 5,000 people expected to participate and the full version of the song of 13.30 minutes to be released.
Telangana poet Andesri, and music director MM Keeravani will also be honoured. Fireworks have also been planned from 8.50 pm onwards, according to the official release.
