Telangana extends validity of liquor licences by one month

Hyderabad : The Telangana government has extended the 2019-21 liquor license period of A4 retail shops for a period of one month, ending 30th November 2021. The existing excise policy will expire by the end of this month and the new excise policy will come into force from December, 2021

This comes days after, the state cabinet decided to allot 15 percent liquor shops to Gouds community, 10 percent to Scheduled Castes (SCs) and 5 percent to Scheduled Tribes (STs).

The decision for the reservation was taken in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan on September 16th, 2021.

The extension will allow the government to frame the guidelines for the new policy post the reservation. Government orders was issued on 22nd September, directing the Director- Prohibition and Excise to take necessary action.
