Former Telangana HC judge Justice Naveen Rao to supervise HCA functioning

Hyderabad: Telangana High Court has appointed its former judge, Justice P Naveen Rao, to supervise the HCA functioning till further orders.
He has been directed to ensure all its decisions and operations are carried out under judicial supervision.
Court issues oversight order
Justice Nagesh Bheemapaka passed the order, directing that all HCA office-bearers must function under the overall supervision of Justice Naveen Rao. The court also made it clear that any future decisions or directions by the HCA should be taken only in consultation with him.
Already supervising League Matches
Justice Naveen Rao is currently supervising the conduct of HCA League matches for the 2025ā2026 season. With this order, his role has been expanded to cover all administrative and operational activities of the Association, similar to the earlier single-member committee headed by Justice (Retd) L Nageswara Rao.
Move amidst financial irregularities
The High Courtās directive comes in the backdrop of ongoing turmoil within the HCA, including allegations of financial irregularities and internal disputes. The judicial intervention is aimed at restoring transparency, accountability, and proper governance within the cricket body.
HCA Ombudsman, Ethics Officer begin duties at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium
Meanwhile, the HCA has also appointed retired High Court judge Justice Suresh Kumar Kait as its new Ombudsman. The Association also confirmed that Justice KC Bhanu (Retd.) will continue in his role as the Ethics Officer.
Ombudsman takes charge
Justice Suresh Kumar Kait formally assumed charge as the Ombudsman on Friday. In his new role, he will handle grievances, complaints, and disputes submitted by affiliated members under the HCA byelaws, rules, and regulations.
Ethics officerās consultation schedule
Justice KC Bhanu will continue as the Ethics Officer of HCA and will be available for consultations and hearings every Monday and Thursday from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm at the HCA premises.
Procedure for submissions
The Association has requested all affiliated members to submit grievances or representations in writing to the HCA Inward Section, using the prescribed format as done earlier.
Additionally, copies of submissions addressed to the Ombudsman must also be emailed to hcaombudsman@gmail.com for proper documentation and follow-up.
