Warangal: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president and former chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has lashed out at the Congress government for its inefficiency in honoring the poll promises even after the completion of its one-and-a-half-year rule in the state.
KCR, who has largely remained away from public appearances, addressed his first public meeting since stepping down from the office of the Chief Minister and taking the reins as the Opposition leader.
KCR, who arrived at the location at 6.30 p.m, called upon the party leaders and activists to rise up and observe a moment of silence in memory of the 26 tourists who were killed in the terror attack. Following this, he initiated the meeting processes.
Addressing the mammoth gathering that reached Elkathurthy near Warangal to participate in the Silver Jubilee Celebrations, KCR termed the Congress Party as ‘Number one villain of Telangana State’, whether it is past or present. He also claimed that no one can compete with the Congress in terms of 'golmaal' and lying to the public.
Highlights of KCR’s speech:
- KCR said that he had started the Telangana movement, taking the words of Lord Rama, "Janani Janmabhoomischa Swargadapi Gariyasi" as inspiration.

- KCR recalled that "duplicate" Gandhis had arrived from New Delhi and promised that Rs 15,000 would be offered under Rythu Bandhu, more than what KCR was offering, as if the leaders here weren't enough. He asked what had happened to the promise.
- The Congress has a history of gimmicks. It collaborated with BRS (then TRS) and obtained supporting letters from 36 parties. Despite all of my efforts, when Congress denied Telangana, I began an indefinite strike, endangering my life.
- The Congress issued a statement and then quickly withdrew it out of fear of negative reaction. Sakala Janula Samme was among the people who started strikes and protests after this deception, he remarked.
- KCR also stated that Congress and Telugu Desam politicians here previously opposed hoisting the Jai Telangana slogan, but this changed only when the BRS (formerly TRS) pink flag was raised. The Speaker of the Assembly even banned the use of the word "Telangana.” He claimed that at every stage, BRS leaders gave up their posts for Telangana's cause.
- Telangana has evolved as a progressive state since its foundation as a separate state, thanks to the unwavering efforts of its leaders and the sacrifices of its citizens
- Telangana's dedication to reconstructing the State—not just to exercise power, but to change it—was the cornerstone of its success. The state's Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) topped national records and its per capita income skyrocketed to Rs 3.5 lakh over the past ten years, marking incredible accomplishments.
- Large areas were irrigated by irrigation schemes like Kalwakurthy, Nettempadu, and Mid-Manair. In the Palamuru region alone, irrigation help was extended to more than 10 lakh acres. Together with multiple check dams, the three-year-long Kaleshwaram project transformed arid areas into productive farmland.
- As evidence of its agricultural transformation, Telangana now produces 3.5 crore tonnes of paddy yearly. KCR claimed that his government had supported agriculture since he was a farmer and understood the struggles faced by the peasantry.

- Rythu Bandhu and other initiatives have given farmers financial support, guaranteeing a reliable electricity supply all day and all night. In spite of doubts, the program helped many farmers and disproved its detractors.
- Despite not being included in the initial manifesto, Mission Bhagiratha was put into place to give every household access to clean drinking water. In order to help more than 25 lakh farmers and improve rural livelihoods, the state has dabbled in sheep husbandry and pisciculture.
- With an astounding Rs 2.5 lakh crore in IT exports, Telangana has emerged as a technological and innovative center. By emphasizing inclusive growth, the advantages of development were distributed throughout the entire state.
#Warangal---"While, @BRSparty used #JCBs to remove silt from the lakes, the #Congress party is using HYDRAA as a weapon and demolishing the houses of the poor," said @KCRBRSPresident during party's silver jubilee meeting at #Elkathurthy. pic.twitter.com/VCHZI3ESWk
