Telangana launches 24/7 Command Control Centre in Hyderabad to monitor LPG supply statewide

Hyderabad: In a move aimed at ensuring uninterrupted LPG supply across the state amid global crude oil constraints, the Telangana Civil Supplies Department has established a 24/7 multi-agency Command and Control Centre to monitor gas distribution in real time.

The facility, launched on Saturday, will track LPG transportation across Telangana using GPS-enabled monitoring systems, allowing authorities to oversee supply movements and quickly address bottlenecks in the distribution chain.

Civil Supplies Commissioner M. Stephen Raveendra, IPS, said the centre will function as the state’s central hub to coordinate with oil companies, district authorities and distributors to maintain steady LPG availability for domestic consumers and priority commercial sectors.

Real-time monitoring of LPG transport

Officials said the Command and Control Centre will continuously monitor LPG movement, stock levels and district-wise distribution across Telangana.

The system will track gas transport vehicles through real-time GPS data, enabling authorities to identify delays, diversion or supply disruptions and take immediate corrective action.

Coordination with oil marketing companies

To ensure transparency and smooth operations, the state government has directed all major Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) to provide officials immediate access to their fleet GPS tracking systems.

Representatives from Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL) will be physically stationed at the centre on a rotational basis to coordinate with government officials and respond quickly to any supply-related issues.

Multi-agency presence at the centre

Apart from oil company officials, representatives from the police department, industries department and LPG distributors will also be present at the facility to ensure swift coordination across agencies.

Officials said this integrated setup will help the government address supply fluctuations and logistical challenges without delay.

District-level coordination

The Command and Control Centre will also conduct daily coordination with district authorities to verify stock availability at the grassroots level and resolve localized shortages.

Toll-free helpline integrated

The Civil Supplies Department has also co-located its toll-free consumer helpline (1967) at the centre, enabling faster response to complaints related to LPG supply and distribution.

Authorities said the round-the-clock monitoring mechanism will help the state maintain transparency in LPG distribution while ensuring that consumers do not face supply disruptions.
