Telangana: No BJP-BRS pact for Lok Sabha polls, declares Bandi Sanjay

Hyderabad: Invoking the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya during the party’s Vijay Sankalp Yatra on Tuesday, Bharatiya Janata Party Karimnagar MP and national general secretary Bandi Sanjay Kumar said that he does not want votes from people who support Aurangzeb, Babur, or Akbar.

In reference to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Bandi Sanjay stated that the BJP is not planning to form an electoral alliance with the Bharat Rashtra Samithi.

The Karimnagar MP kickstarted the Telangana BJP unit’s Vijaya Sankalp Bus Yatra with Union Minister BL Verma at Tandur in Vikarabad district. Addressing the gathering, Bandi Sanjay said, “Those wanting to see Ayodhya Ram Mandir vote for Narendra Modi. If you again want Babri Masjid, then vote for Congress; those who believe in demons are Rahul Gandhi and K Chandrashekhar Rao. People should decide whether they want Ram and Narendra Modi or demons.”

‘370 seats for BJP

Bandi Sanjay expressed confidence that the BJP would win around 370 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. People should bless the BJP with 370 seats as it successfully scrapped Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, he said.

Speaking about the rumours of a secret alliance between the BJP and BRS, he said that even if such a notion were put forth, the state BJP workers would ‘beat up’ the party leadership.

“Even while the BRS was in power, we didn’t support them. Why are we going to side with them now?” he declared. In addition, he urged the crowd to display their shoes and ‘hit any politician’ who raised the prospect of a BJP-BRS alliance.

BJP plans to contest alone in Telangana

“We have decided to contest alone with our own candidacies for the Lok Sabha and have no plans to collaborate with any other political parties in the state. The Congress has created an alliance with the BJP and the BRS. The Congress has also accused the BJP of forming a covert alliance with the BRS during the State Assembly elections. It has resumed disseminating false information regarding the alliances," he said.

The BJP national general secretary also alleged that these media ‘leaks’ were the product of BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao.
