Telangana polls: Azharuddin to contest from Jubilee Hills, Congress releases 2nd list

Telangana: Former captain of the Indian cricket team Mohammad Azharuddin will be fielding from Jubilee hills constituency in the upcoming Telangana Assembly polls. On Friday, Congress has released the second list of 45 candidates for the upcoming polls.

With this, the party has revealed a total of 100 candidates for the Telangana assembly polls, which will cover the 119 assembly constituencies in the state.

Azharuddin was given ticket with an aim to encash on the Muslim voters in Jubilee hills constituency. His first reaction after the second list was announced.

Madhu Goud Yaskhi from Lal Bahadur Nagar, Ponnam Prabhakar from Husanabad, Kandi Srniwas Reddy from Adilabad, and Tumla Nageshwar Rao from Khammam are among others.

Earlier, Congress declared its first list of 55 candidates for the ensuing Telangana Assembly elections. Eight defectors from Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), two from Bharatiya Janata Party and one independent candidate have been given tickets by the Indian National Congress Party in Telangana.

Telangana will go to polls on November 30. The counting of votes will happen on December 3, 2023.
