Telangana power consumption touches record high of 298.19 million units in March 2024

Telangana: Due to the massive rise in temperatures across the state, uninterrupted power supply is available to all categories of consumers, including agriculture, and the consumption is also increasing massively.

As on Wednesday, the state has set a new record with electricity consumption of 298.19 million units. The highest consumption of electricity in the state last year was 297.89 million units.

GHMC recorded the highest electricity consumption of 69.31 million units on Wednesday March 6, compared to last year's consumption of 59.53 million units. This is the highest in this season.

The average power consumption in January last year was 227.42 MU and in January this year it was 243.12 MU.

The average power consumption in February last year was 263.48 MU and in February this year it was 272.86 MU.

The average power consumption till March 6 last year was 291.33 MU and this year it was 292.66 MU till March 6.

In GHMC limits:

The average power consumption in January last year was 49.45 MU and this year in January it was 54.13 MU.

The average power consumption in February last year was 54.50 MU and in February this year it was 61.09 MU.

The average power consumption till March 6 last year was 57.4 MU while in February this year it was 66.13 MU.

With ample availability of electricity, the consumption is likely to cross 300 million units in the next few days.

The maximum demand of 14,856 megawatts (March 3, 2023) was recorded till March 6 of last year, while this year, the electricity demand has exceeded 15,000 megawatts from March 1.

On Wednesday, March 6, the highest electricity demand of the season was recorded at 15403. This is an increase of 573 megawatts over last year.

In Greater Hyderabad:

The maximum demand of 2910 megawatts (March 3, 2023) was recorded till March 6 of last year, while this year the electricity demand is exceeding 3000 megawatts from March 1 itself. On Wednesday, March 6, the highest electricity demand of 3335 MW was recorded in this season.

Government sources say that the power companies are ready to supply according to the increase in electricity demand.
