Telangana resolves issue with TTD: Legislators can issue darshan letters from March 24

Telangana: Public representatives from the state can give darshan letters from March 24
Hyderabad: Telangana public representatives can now issue letters for darshan at Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) from March 24. This issue surrounding the letter came to light after minister Konda Surekha took up the issue with Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Minister Surekha wrote a letter to AP CM Chandrababu Naidu that the devotees from Telangana who came to visit TTD were having problems as TTD officials were not responding to the requests of TG public representatives.
Devotees complained to the minister that the policy designed by TG was not being followed by TTD officials.
Giving an update on her request to AP, Minister Konda Surekha said, āThe AP government has responded positively to my letter. The requests for darshans to Telangana public representatives letters will be issued from March 24 onwards.ā
What is the policy for issuing letters?
According to the approved policy, Telangana MLAs, MLCs and MPs are allowed to issue:
Two recommendation letters per week for VIP Break Darshan (Rs 500 ticket)
Two recommendation letters per week for Special Entry Darshan (Rs 300 ticket)
These letters are valid for any two days between Monday and Thursday.
These guidelines were formulated and approved in December 2024.
Increase in visitors from Telangana to Tirumala
On average every day, 30,000 to 50,000 people visit the temple. Surekha said, āDespite the bifurcation of the State, the number of people visiting Tirumala has increased in recent times. The devotion of Telugu people has not decreased but grown stronger for Lord Venkateswara Swamy.ā
