Telangana SSC results: 91.31% students pass; Nirmal records highest percentage
Nirmal district topped with a 99.09 pass percentage

Hyderabad: Around 91.31 percent of students have passed the Telangana SSC exams announced on Tuesday. This year, girls have out performed boys with 93.23 percent, while boys pass percentage is 89.42.
The total number of regular students who appeared for the exam are 4,94,207 out of which 4,51,272 passed. Nirmal district topped with a 99.09 pass percentage, while Vikarabad district recorded the lowest of 65.10 pass percentage.
Principal Secretary for Education Burra Venkatesham released the results on Tuesday.
The pass percentage increased from 86.60 percent in 2023 to 91.31 percent in 2024. This year, 3,927 schools secured 100 percent of passes and six schools got zero pass percentages.
Supplementary exams will be held from June 3.

Private candidates
The state percentage of passes of private candidates is 49.73 per cent. As many as 11,606 private students appeared for the SSC exam out of which 5,772 students passed.
The pass percentage secured by boys is 47.40 per cent whereas girls secured 54.14 pass percentage. The girls secured 6.74 per cent higher than the boys.
The regular and private candidates together were 5,05,813, with 4,94,207 regular and 11,606 private candidates having appeared for the SSC exams in March 2024, as against 4,91,862 candidates who appeared for the SSC exams in April 2023.
Telangana residential schools have the highest pass percentage
Telangana State Residential Schools secured the highest percentage of passes i.e., 98.71 per cent.
TS Residential, BC Welfare Residential, Social Welfare Residential, Tribal Welfare Residential, Minority Residential, Model Schools, Private and KGBV Schools secured more pass percentage than the state average.
Ashram, Aided, ZP and Government schools secured lesser a pass percentage than the state average.
The pass percentage among Telugu students (total students 84,790) is 80.71 per cent. The pass percentage among English students (total 4,01,458) is 93.74 per cent.
Internal Marks and External Marks
The qualifying criteria for formative assessment (Internal Marks) and summative assessment (External Marks) are as follows:
1. The minimum pass mark is 35 out of 100 marks in each subject except second language. In the case of a second language, the passing mark is 20 out of 100.
2. Further, the candidate should qualify in the external examinations i.e., in Summative Assessment, the candidate has to attain at least 28 marks out of 80 marks in each of these subjects.
3. In the case of a second language, the candidate has to attain at least 16 marks out of 80 marks.
4. The qualifying marks in Internal exams (Formative Assessment) for all the subjects and paper-wise marks are dispensed with.
5. As per GO 27, School Education (Programme-II) Department, certain exemptions and concessions are being provided to the Children with Special Needs (CwSN) in the SSC Public Examinations from the academic year 2022-23.
Supplementary exams schedule
The SSC Advanced Supplementary Examinations are scheduled from June 3 to June 13 from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm.
Since the time available for the conduct of supplementary exams is short, without waiting for results of recounting/re-verification, the failed candidates of SSC exams who want to appear for supplementary exams may submit their exam fee as per the following due dates:
The last date for students to submit their exam fees to the schools is May 16. The last date for the schools to deposit the fees in the treasury/treasury branches of SBI is May 17.
With a late fine of Rs 50, the students can send their fees up to two days before the commencement of supplementary exams.
Results of some students withheld
The office of the Directorate of Government Examinations, Telangana, stated that the results show only a provisional list of roll numbers of the candidates who are declared eligible for the award of Secondary School Certificate by the Board of Secondary Education, Telangana State, Hyderabad.
The results of a few candidates are withheld for want of certain information from the school/spot valuation camp/examination centre. These cases will be finalised and released shortly.
Recounting process
The candidates who desire to get their marks recounted should submit Rs 500 per subject within 15 days from the date of publication of results, i.e., up to May 15.
The candidates can apply for recounting of marks directly to the Office of the Director of Government Examinations, Telangana, Hyderabad, in person or by post.
Applying for re-verification photocopy of answer book
The candidates have to submit the re-verification application form along with a Xerox copy of the hall ticket and a computerised printed memo countersigned by the school head. Applications sent to the DEOās office through the school will only be accepted. The applications sent by post to the board will not be accepted.
Re-verification will include re-totalling of the marks, checking if all answers were given marks and also posted. Appeals of undervaluation will not be considered.
Application forms are available on the website of the Directorate of Government Examinations, Telangana, and they can be obtained from the district educational officers also. The candidates have to submit Rs 1,000 per subject through individual challan.
Along with the recounting process, applications for re-verification and supply of Xerox copies will be accepted within 15 days from the date of publication of results (i.e., up to May 15). However, the candidates who applied for re-verification need not apply for recounting and the demand draft will not be accepted.
Schools prohibited from announcing ranks
As per GO 145, institutions have been refrained from announcing ranks from the year 1997-98 onwards. In the light of these orders, if any institution or any management announces or advertises ranks action including withdrawal of recognition will be initiated as per law. Hence no management/ institution should resort to the announcement of ranks.
