Telangana to credit ₹9,000 Cr to farmers accounts under Rythu Bharosa after municipal polls

Miryalaguda: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said the state government will credit ₹9,000 crore under the Rythu Bharosa scheme to farmers' accounts immediately after the conclusion of the upcoming municipal elections.

Addressing a public gathering in Miryalaguda on Thursday after laying foundation stones for several development projects, the Chief Minister positioned the farmers' welfare scheme as a top priority for the government.

He highlighted that the administration has already spent over ₹1 lakh crore on agriculture and allied sectors in the last two years, including the successful waiver of farm loans and the provision of a ₹500 bonus for paddy.

War of Words over Telangana's Identity

In a scathing attack on the opposition, Revanth Reddy challenged BRS President K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) and his family to donate their private farmhouses in Janwada, Erravalli, and Moinabad, along with their media outlets, to the public.

The CM lashed out at BRS for projecting KCR as 'father of Telangana'. He said, "KCR might be the father of his own community, but not for Telangana. He should tender an apology to the state for looting its wealth. The real Father of Telangana is Professor Jayashankar, and Sonia Gandhi is the 'Goddess of Telangana' for granting statehood despite political risks."

Phone Tapping and Corruption Allegations

The Chief Minister did not mince words regarding the phone-tapping scandal, accusing the previous regime of snooping on judges, journalists, celebrities, and even private citizens.

Key Development & Welfare Highlights

As the Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD), Revanth Reddy laid out a vision for the state's urban and rural future:

Housing: Announced that additional Indiramma Houses will be sanctioned in the 2026-2027 budget. To date, 4.50 lakh houses have been sanctioned with funds deposited directly into accounts.

Infrastructure: Committed to the completion of the SLBC project tunnel within two years to solve Nalgonda's fluoride issues.

Education: Construction of 100 Young India Integrated Schools is underway to provide world-class education.

Women’s Empowerment: Highlighted that ₹25,000 crore has been provided to self-help groups at zero interest.

Municipal Election Clarion Call

With 123 municipalities heading to the polls, the CM appealed to the electorate to "teach a befitting lesson" to the BRS. He predicted a total wipeout for the opposition, claiming that if the women who benefit from the free RTC bus travel vote for Congress, both the BRS and BJP will forfeit their deposits.

"The enthusiastic participation of women today reflects an unopposed victory in the upcoming elections," the CM stated, expressing confidence that the Congress would retain power in the next Assembly elections as well.
