Telugu artist caught with a drug supplier in Mumbai hotel

Hyderabad: The Narcotics Control Bureau, Mumbai has detained a Telugu industry artist for alleged connect with a drug supplier. The lady was caught in a raid conducted in a hotel in Mira Road of Mumbai on 2nd January.

The arrest of a peddler led the Narcotics Control Bureau to the raid. Speaking to NewsMeter Investigating officer Samir Wankhede said, "A peddler by name Mohd Chand was caught with 400 grams of Mephredrine at Bandra railway station (west) worth Rs 10 lakhs. His telephone contacts and other network revealed a supplier by name Mohd Saeed. In a raid conducted in a hotel in Mira Road of Mumbai, the team found the lady artist with the supplier, however could not nab him. While the supplier is on a run, the artist has been detained'.

The NCB on Saturday summoned the artist and recorded her statement. "We are examining her visit to Mumbai and any connection to Hyderabad. She is not a famous actress" confirmed the NCB zonal director.

The NCB informed that a case under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) Act has been registered against the peddler Mohd Chand.
