Kunal Kamra has come up with a new standup special called `Naya Bharat’ where he talks about Indian politics in his style.
In the video which is available on YouTube channel, Kamra can be seen taking a dig at deputy chief minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde by altering the Bollywood film ‘Dil toh pagal hai’ song lines and calling him a traitor. He is reenacting the 2022 rebellion against Uddhav Thackery.
Video sparks political slugfest
The video has sparked a political slugfest in Maharashtra. There is anger among Shiv Sena workers. Shiv Sena leaders warn Kamra
Shiv Sena MP from Thane Naresh Mhaske said, “Kamra is a contract comedian. We will ensure that he cannot move freely in the country. We are Shiv Sainiks of late Balashaeb Thackeray.” Shiv Sena leaders and workers took to X, warning Kamra of the consequences for mocking Ekanth Shinde.
I was attending a comedy show at Habitat tonight. We were ushered out 30 minutes earlier. Was told some people broke one floor of the venue. Apparently, Kunal Kamra went too far when parodying Eknath Shinde. L day for comedy, free speech, and Kunal Kamra’s timing. pic.twitter.com/jSmAov20nm
