Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police Commissionerate issued an order, effective immediately, prohibiting the flying of drones, paragliders, and micro-light aircraft within a 5 km radius of the Air Force Station in Hakimpet, Hyderabad.
The order, issued by Cyberabad commissioner M Stephen Raveendra, comes in light of a memorandum from the Ministry of Home Affairs that highlighted the increasing concerns regarding the possibility of terrorist or antisocial attacks utilising para-gliders, remote-controlled drones, and micro-light aircraft.
According to the statement, āThe order will remain in force until July 8. Any person found violating the order will be punishable under Sections 188, 121, 121(a), 287, 336, 337, and 338 of the Indian Penal Code.ā
The statement further added, āThe order also applies to event organisers and others who use drones to get aerial views for live telecasts and photography. These individuals must obtain permission from the Cyberabad Police before flying drones in the restricted area.ā
